IUM at the 2023 IIKZN Gala Dinner: Celebrating Unity, Diversity, and Industry Excellence

On the evening of 25 November 2023, IUM proudly participated as a Diamond Sponsor at the Insurance Institute of KwaZulu-Natal's (IIKZN) Annual Gala Dinner, held at the magnificent Durban International Convention Centre. The event, marking the largest IIKZN Gala Dinner in history with 700 attendees, was a resounding success, encapsulating an unforgettable night of enchantment and glamour.

The dinner’s "I See You" theme, inspired by the world of Pandora from the iconic Avatar film, celebrated the interconnectedness of all beings, reflecting the spirit of unity and collaboration that thrives within the insurance industry. As part of this vibrant community, IUM was honoured to contribute to the evening’s atmosphere, which featured breathtaking décor, extraordinary entertainment, and a touching celebration of long service, academic achievements, and the immense contribution of the industry to South Africa’s economy.

Guests were treated to captivating performances, including ballet dancers, Avatar-inspired characters, and a stunning peacock tail – a first in South Africa – creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The gala also featured incredible vocal performances, with tenors singing "Nessun Dorma" to the delight of the crowd, setting a remarkable tone for the evening.

As a Diamond Sponsor, IUM played an integral role in making this event possible. The gala not only honoured the dedication and hard work of professionals in the insurance industry but also provided a meaningful platform for recognising the strength of community, diversity, and shared purpose. It was a night that highlighted the importance of connection, empathy, and collaboration, with the message of "I See You" reverberating throughout the evening, celebrating the incredible contributions of every individual in the industry.

We are proud to have been part of such an extraordinary event and look forward to continuing to support and celebrate the collective achievements of the insurance community in KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.
